FAQ
Welcome to my FAQ section. Here, I have compiled a list of commonly asked questions about Rolfing. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.
1. Is Rolfing Painful?
This is probably one of the most searched for topics online. Rolfing has a reputation for being painful, probably because Rolfers were more heavy handed back in the beginning. Decades of experience have shown us that such a heavy handed approach is not necessary, and we can get the changes we are looking for without all the pain. Rolfing should actually feel mostly pleasant, with some challenging moments. We want people to leave feeling good.
2. How many sessions do I need?
Doing a series of 10 is the most fundamental approach to Rolfing, though a shorter series of 3 sessions can also be helpful. If not doing series work we can simply focus on what would be the most helpful from session to session, so there would be no minimum amount of sessions recommended.
3. What should I wear?
Underwear or something underwear like. Boxer briefs, bicycle shorts, sport bra, swim wear. We don't use draping (unless you get cold). We need to be able to see the person's structure while working.
4. Is Integrative Body Work covered by insurance?
While I do not accept insurance, I do offer packages to make Rolfing more accessible to everyone.
